Support for Students

Guidance Suite: Room 236: Students may seek out their guidance counselors for help throughout the day on a drop-in basis or by appointment.

College Office: Room 225: Juniors and Seniors should check the College Office’s walk-in hours (available on the College Corner page in the latest PA BULLETIN) to receive help from the counselors on various college admissions related issues.

Youth Counseling League: YCL provides onsite and offsite counseling for adolescents at Stuyvesant. Call them at (onsite) (212) 481-2500 or (offsite) (212) 632-4700.

AIS Tutoring: Academic Intervention Services offers free tutoring to students onsite by Stuyvesant teachers. Check the school’s or the PA’s website each semester for the new schedules.

ARISTA Tutoring: The Stuyvesant National Honor Society’s members make free tutoring services available to all students on request.

“Support Student Services at Stuyvesant” an overview of support services available to students at Stuyvesant High School. It has been distributed to parents at the summer Camp Stuy orientation day and is also available by clicking HERE.

“Biegelson’s Theory of Small Pieces” by Stuy Guidance Counselor Jay Biegelson is a “must read” for all Stuy students and parents. It is included in section 4 of the Parent Handbook, and is also accessible by clicking HERE.
